COMMITTEES AND LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE
I have the privilege of leading or serving on the following committees.
ELECTIONS
I am the Senate GOP Lead on the Elections Committee, which has jurisdiction over all bills relating to elections, redistricting, ethical practices for public officials, and campaign finance.
HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES
The HHS Committee’s primary jurisdiction is medical and public health and licensing in Minnesota, including the Department of Health, health insurance, health care, medical boards, economic assistance programs, behavioral health, child care, child protection, and adoption. (There are some exceptions in some of these areas.)
STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT
This committee is responsible for reviewing legislation that impacts how state agencies, local government units (cities, counties, townships), and metropolitan agencies function. We examine bills relating to administrative rules, public employee pensions, elections, and veterans affairs.
